Are you ready for GAIN?

GAIN. Grace. Acceleration. Increase. Now.

Every generation is given a defining moment. This is ours.

God has called us to this moment. Now it's time to move together.

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Ephesians 3:20–21

Who we are

Before the
storm.

God was already doing exceedingly abundantly more than we could have imagined.

What began as one courageous “yes” to a God‑sized vision has become a global community of believers making faith accessible, relevant, and real.

  1. 2009

Five people and a hotel meeting room

The Lighthouse Church began with five people, a vision, and a hotel meeting room.

  2. 2009/14

    Houston's gymnasiums

We gathered in school gymnasiums across Houston: Humble Middle, Kingwood High, Summer Creek.

  3. 2015

    A permanent home

We opened the doors to our first permanent home at 6650 Rankin Road.

  4. 2018/22

    Four campuses, one nation

We planted four campuses across the city and launched Lighthouse Nation, our online platform. A local congregation became a global community.

  5. Now

    Today

More than 40,000 members call The Lighthouse Church home, and nearly 950,581 people gather with us each week across our campuses and online.

  • Pastor Keion Henderson preaching to the congregation in worship, 2009
  • The congregation gathered in a school auditorium, 2009 to 2014
  • Pastor Keion Henderson preaching to the congregation at the Rankin Road campus, 2015
  • The congregation gathered in the sanctuary, 2018 to 2022
  • Pastor Keion Henderson preaching on stage today

We are a light that loves, lifts, and leads, making faith accessible, relevant, and real.

Our story

The storm didn't
stop the story.

Tested, but not broken. Displaced, but not defeated.

In 2009, five people gathered in a meeting room at a Holiday Inn in Houston with an assignment to create a home where everyone belongs and leaves transformed.

What began as a small gathering grew into something none of us could have imagined. Today, more than 40,000 members call The Lighthouse Church home, and nearly one million people around the world gather with us each week to worship, grow, and encounter God.

Then, in 2024, Hurricane Beryl changed where we worshiped.

The storm caused catastrophic damage to our primary worship facility. Ceilings collapsed, and our sanctuary was no longer a safe haven. Overnight, the place where our church family gathered, celebrated, grieved, and grew together was gone.

Debris and insulation piled across the sanctuary floor beneath the collapsed ceiling

But The Lighthouse Church has never been defined by four walls.

When our doors closed, our faith grew even stronger. We worshiped in temporary spaces while continuing to serve our city and empower people to live out their God‑given purpose. The storm disrupted our location, but it never diminished why we gather.

Today, we have an opportunity to build again, not simply to replace what was lost, but to make room for what comes next. A home where generations will walk with God, lives will be transformed, and our community will continue to flourish for years to come.

Our impact

The mission
never stopped.

What we do together multiplies.

For the past two years, we've learned that while buildings can be lost, purpose cannot. The Lighthouse Church kept showing up. And behind every number is a person, a family, or a community touched because people from all walks of life continued to say yes.

The vision

Get ready
for GAIN.

The next chapter will be greater than the last.

GAIN is a declaration of faith. A spiritual journey rooted in the belief that what God wants to accomplish through us begins with the work He does within us.

Whether through prayer, generosity, service, or another step in faith, each of us has a part to play. And when those individual commitments come together, our collective acts of obedience have the power to impact generations.

More than a building

We're building for what happens inside these walls and reaches far beyond them.

  • Our entire church family will once again gather under one roof in a revitalized worship home designed for the future of our ministry.

  • Every Sunday, hundreds more children will learn about Jesus in environments built specifically for them.

  • People in every season of life will find guidance and hope through dedicated classrooms, offices, and counseling suites.

  • Thousands of Houston families will receive food, counseling, and hope through this building every year.

The true legacy of GAIN will be written in the lives of the child who discovers their faith, the family that finds support when they need it most, the person who makes their way back to God, and the communities strengthened because The Lighthouse Church was there to serve.

That's the story we have the opportunity to write together.

Your GAIN journey

Before we move together,
we seek God together.

GAIN begins with a personal invitation to draw closer to God and consider what He wants to do in your life during this season.

As a church family, we're setting aside 21 days, October 4–25, for prayer and fasting to quiet the distractions around us, seek God with greater intention, and listen for how He is calling each of us to respond. Everyone fasts together for the full 21 days — choose the level that fits where you are.

  1. 01

    Step In

    Fast from social media.

  2. 02

    Deeper

    Fast from lunch.

  3. 03

    All In

    Fast from food from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Whether you've never fasted before or fasting is already part of your spiritual practice, start where you are.

What are you believing God for?

Use your GAIN Spiritual Journey Card to capture what you're believing for, the spiritual commitment you're making, and your personal declaration of faith for this season.

First Lady

Built a career without a roadmap and led with faith even when the path was unclear. Her influence stretches from her production studio, Amirah, Inc., to the pew of The Lighthouse Church, creating space for honest conversation and bringing other women with her. A story of becoming, again and again.

Instead of stopping us, the storm launched us into a greater vision. GAIN isn't just about repairing walls. It's about creating a future where Lighthouse stands stronger, brighter, and more equipped to serve our city and beyond. A testimony that God's glory shines brightest after the storm.

FAQ

Frequently asked
questions.

Have questions? We've got answers!

What is GAIN?

GAIN stands for Grace. Acceleration. Increase. Now. It is our church‑wide campaign to rebuild our primary worship home following Hurricane Beryl and prepare for the next chapter of ministry. More than a fundraising initiative, GAIN is a season of faith, generosity, and spiritual growth as we believe in God for collective exponential impact.

How does the two-year pledge work?

A pledge is your personal commitment to give toward the GAIN campaign over a two-year period. Rather than making one gift all at once, you can prayerfully determine an amount and fulfill your commitment over time in the way that works best for you.

Where does my gift go?

Every gift directly supports the restoration of our permanent home and the ministries it makes possible, including:

  • A revitalized worship center where our church family can gather under one roof.
  • Expanded children's and youth environments.
  • Dedicated spaces for counseling, discipleship, and care.
  • Community outreach, food distribution, and crisis support.

Your generosity helps create a place where lives will continue to be transformed for generations to come.

Can I give in installments?

Yes! Most people will fulfill their pledge through recurring monthly, quarterly, or annual gifts over the two-year campaign. You are welcome to give in the way that best fits your financial circumstances.

Who do I contact about a major gift?

If you're interested in making a major gift, learning about naming opportunities, or discussing other ways to partner with the campaign, we'd love to connect with you personally.

Contact Ivy McGregor, Chief Strategy Officer, at iMcGregor@TLHC.org or 713‑931‑8401.

Can I give in ways other than cash?

Yes. While many people choose to fulfill their pledge through financial gifts, there are other meaningful ways to support the GAIN campaign. Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to contribute through gifts such as:

  • Appreciated stocks or securities
  • Real estate
  • Business interests
  • Jewelry or other valuable assets
  • Donor‑advised funds (DAFs)
  • Qualified charitable distributions (QCDs) from eligible retirement accounts
  • Planned or legacy gifts

If you're considering a non‑cash gift, our team is available to help guide you through the process and answer any questions. Contact Ivy McGregor at iMcGregor@TLHC.org.

What if I can't make a large financial commitment?

Every act of generosity matters. We believe GAIN is about faithful stewardship. We encourage every person to pray, seek God's direction, spread the vision, and participate in whatever way He leads. Together, every gift becomes part of the legacy we're building.
